The Black Eyed Peas’ frontman Will.i.am, 38, premiered his new single, "#ThatPower," on Friday, featuring Bieber on the chorus. The song will appear on his new album "#willpower," set to be released in April.

While introducing the track on Capital FM, Will.i.am kept his audience in the dark about who his famous friend singing on the song was.

"It's up-tempo. It's Friday. I'm proud of the collaboration. Hopefully the people listening can guess who it is," Will.I.am said before previewing the track.

"We recorded that during the BRIT [Awards]," Will.i.am said.

Will.i.am is a staunch advocate of Justin Bieber, defending him after his kerfuffle with the paparazzi.

"So actually we went shopping first and we were like 'hey, let's just have a chilled day,' and we went shopping for shoes," the songwriter explained. "Then after that we went to the studio, watched the BRITS, recorded that and then trucked off to see Justin Timberlake perform."

"So that was a pretty full day," the artist said.

Earlier this week, Will.i.am leaped to Bieber's defense over his altercation with photographers last week.

"Paparazzi are the most disrespectful folk that the industry has," he said, speaking on Capital FM. "People don't really realize just how intruding they are to one's life."

"Give the guy some space and let him just grow up. He's a good kid, he has a good mum, he has good friends around him," the "Scream and Shout" artist added.

"I'd say just be a little bit sensitive to people and their individual space. He's already sharing his life with us, right?"
