JACK RODWELL hopes to return by the end of the month â" just in time for the Manchester derby on April 8.
The City midfielder suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury which has kept him out for much of the season during the championsâ win at Aston Villa 10 days ago.
But Rodwell is confident his latest setback is not as serious as first feared.
The former Everton star said: âWeâve had a discussion and we all agree that the best course of action is to continue what we were doing before because it worked so well.
âThis is an injury that can strike at any time to anyone and Iâm sure it something that Iâll be rid of before too long, but itâs an on-going process and something that canât be rushed.
âObviously you donât want to tempt fate but Iâm not looking at this a lengthy absence and I hope to be back in a couple of weeks.
âOne thing I would like to say is a big thank you to all our supporters. Iâve had loads of good will messages saying to keep my chin up and thatâs Iâll be back before too long.
âThe fans are the club as far as Iâm concerned and it means a lot to know I have their backing and that they are so supportive towards me.
âHopefully I can play my part in the run-in and help us win some silverware and end what has been a frustrating season on a high.â
