AnnaSophia Robb of The Carrie Diaries Models Floral Swimsuit for Seventeen ... - Us Magazine

Carrie on! AnnaSophia Robb has charmed viewers as the titular star of the CW's Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, and now she's stepping into the spotlight as the sweet and sassy cover girl for the May issue of Seventeen magazine. Showing off her petite frame in a floral, ruffled, one-piece swimsuit under a neon-yellow cardigan, the 19-year-old actress looks ready for summer -- and anything else that may come her way.

Robb, who plays a teenage version of Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, sat down with the magazine to dish about her own high school drama, her plans for college, and what it's like to make out with her hunky costar Austin Butler. (Butler, 21, plays Carrie's high school love interest Sebastian Kydd.)

"One of the biggest challenges for us is to be sexy and flirty on camera because we just can't take each other seriously anymore -- kissing on camera isn't that fun! But he's so cute!" she gushes of the actor, who has been dating Vanessa Hudgens for more than a year. "He talks about Vanessa all the time. They're crazy in love!"

Robb says her own romantic life is much less intense. "I don't think I'm ready to be that in love," she confesses. "They put so much time into their relationship, and I'm too selfish right now."

She's also incredibly focused on her career. In fact, she put her dreams of going to Stanford University on hold to do The Carrie Diaries. "I'm a really spiritual person," she says of how she made the decision to postpone college and pursue acting. "So I prayed and thought about it a lot, but I trusted my gut, because what else do you have to go on?"

That's something she and her character have in common. That, and their fiercely independent personalities. "I think girls are especially worried about being judged, and when you're in high school, everything seems like a bigger deal than it is," she says. "As soon as you're out, it feels like forever ago -- zip-a-dee-doo-dah! So do what you want, and if people are going to judge you for it, who cares? You might not fit in, but that's okay. Everyone thought I was weird in high school!"
