Editor's note: After this story published, Carly Rae Jepsen's manager, Scooter Braun, let us know via Twitter that the remix with Nicki Minaj arrives next week.
Getting over a bad breakup? Well, Carly Rae Jepsen has your back, and she's bringing a friend along for the ride.
Nicki Minaj will add even more girl power to the remix of Jepsen's The remix was first teased earlier this month by Jepsen's School Boy Records boss, Scooter Braun, who revealed a bit more about the collaboration to MTV News earlier this week.
"I was just listening to it on my phone," he told us. "You'll hear it very, very soon. And Nicki killed the verse, and it's great."
While fans will have to wait just a bit longer to see what kind of lyrical fire Minaj spits on the breakup anthem, Braun assured everyone that it will get the party started.
"When Carly Rae and Nicki get together, they make songs about getting over guys," he said. "Whenever girls do songs about getting over men, they seem to do really well."
Jepsen and Minaj will get the chance to hang out during the season finale of "American Idol," when the "Call Me Maybe" singer stops by to perform a brand-new track that fans are helping co-write through Coca-Cola's "Perfect Harmony" contest. And given this latest development, we wouldn't be surprised to see them perform their remix on the show.
This isn't the first time Minaj has worked with someone in the School Boy family: She previously appeared on Justin Bieber's getting super feisty and working in a reference to JB's now ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
