A bubblegum named 'Camel Balls' has caused controversy after it was sold to a 7-year-old girl.

The mother of the child has expressed outrage that a product so explicit would be sold to a young child, reports The Mirror.

It is not just the name that has riled the mother - the packaging also has a picture of a camel's bottom on it.

Ruby McKenzie's mother Charlene said: "I was disgusted as I think that it's totally inappropriate.

"I am more upset with the company that makes the gum than the shops that sell it."

The 26-year-old continued to say: "It's okay for adults and a bit of a laugh, but I can't see the funny side when they are kept in the sweet section of shops where children like Ruby will see them."

Paul Southam from Fini Sweets UK responded to the issue, saying: "I do sympathise with the parent here. But it's supposed to be funny and a bit of a joke."
