The Voice UK's Cleo Higgins Calls For More Live Shows Following 'Diva Behaviour' Rumours (WATCH)

The Voice UK's Cleo Higgins was subject to rumours in the press today suggesting that she is winding up her co-stars with "diva" behaviour - and has argued that it would be easier for viewers to understand the contestants' personalities if every show was live.

This year the talent show cut its live show quota in half, downsizing from six to three - but Cleo has said that perhaps fewer acts would fall victim to the power of editing if there were fewer pre-recorded broadcasts.

Sugapuff asked the star what she would change about the format if she could, and she explained: "I feel like the public don't understand a lot of things because of editing... They don't understand someone's personality.

"It would be nice if it was just live."

This weekend marks the semi-final stage for the series, which has already been confirmed to return for a third outing in 2014.

Last year's winner Leanne Mitchell failed to crack the Top 100 with her first album, but runner-up Bo Bruce has scored a Top 10 LP and Tyler James has appeared in the singles Top 40 three times over the last twelve months.

Leah McFall is the current bookies' favourite to take the crown, after ascending to No3 on the iTunes charts with her cover of Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' in the quarter finals.

The semi-finals air tomorrow on BBC One.
