But as they left The Waldorf Astoria on Monday looking confident and dressed for a glamorous evening out, Katy Perry and John Mayor looked very much back together.
John had attended the Friars Club Roast of Don Rickles at the event, arriving alone and was secretly joined by Katy, who looked sophisticated in a peach coloured satin gown once they were both inside.

John looked surprisingly suave and sophisticated, making a change from his usual scruffy attire.
While Katy looked absolutely stunning in the peach maxi dress which hugged her curvaceous figure.
The pair certainly looked dressed for a very romantic date upon leaving the establishment late that evening.

On Sunday, the pair were seen enjoying another date night at the Greenwich Hotel and Bowery Hotel in New York.
'They were very cuddly and cute,' a source revealed to E! News.
'Katy definitely gave the impression that she and John are 100 percent back together.'

There had been rumours on the cards for a few months that the couple were back, although initially sources close to the couple claimed they were just hanging out and 'not putting a label on it.'
Katy recently told Vogue magazine that her relationship with Mayer was still 'over,' after it ended in March.
She revealed: 'I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind.

Speaking about her ex-husband Russell Brand, Katy revealed she hasn't seen him since the divorce.
She said: 'He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.'
