As history has proved, returning contestants usually do rather well on The X Factor.
Indeed, Alexandra Burke was devastated after missing out on Louis Walsh's final four in 2005, but three-years she not only returned but went on to win the show in a final that saw her duet with Beyonce Knowles.
That same year a certain Liam Payne made it all the way to judge's houses, but Simon Cowell deemed him 'not ready' for the competition and requested he come back 'in two years.'
Liam did just that and the rest, as they say, is history.
Making a comeback: Amy Mottram, 17, returns to the show having made it all the way to the judges houses in 2012
Perhaps with those success stories in mind, this year's comeback kids will be hoping for similar good fortune when they face the judging panel on Saturday night.
Leading the way is Amy Mottram. The 17-year-old received lost out to eventual finalist Christopher Maloney as last year's wildcard entry, but returns this year hungrier than ever.
'I have been waiting a year to try again and the song tells my story,' she tells the audience during her second audition this weekend.
We're back: Girl-group Dolly Rockers return with a new member on Saturday evening's episode of The X Factor
Hopeful: Shelley Smith (left) and Jade Richards audition on Saturday night
Delighted: The judges are clearly pleased with one of Saturday night's hopefuls
Also making a comeback is Scottish singer Jade Richards, who returns for her third audition in as many years with a rendering of Amy Winehouse classic Back to Black.
Other familiar faces come in the form of girl-group Dolly Rockers.
The band made it all the way to Louis's sprawling home in Ireland four years ago, but was eventually sent home after not making the long-term judge's final four.
Having returned with a new member in Daniele the group get four unanimous yeses in their first, acapella audition on Saturday night.
Fourth time lucky: Melanie Mccabe returns to the show for what is her fourth audition
Another determined hopeful will be 19-year old Dubliner Melanie Mccabe, who receives a glowing compliment from Gary after returning for her fourth audition.
The teenager got to boot-camp last year, and after performing a version of David Guetta hit Titanium the Take That star tells her it was the 'best audition of the day.'
Other hopefuls to look out for on Saturday include single mum and white van driver Shelley Smith, who impresses the judges with her rendition of Michael Buble's Feeling Good, but is told to 'drop' the cliché Mariah moves.
Teenager Barclay Beales also stands out with a unique, yodelled version of One Direction track What Makes You Beautiful, and Surrey based girl group Euphoria Girls, who are told to 'come back with more edge' after performing Icona Pop hit I Love It.
The X Factor continues on ITV at 9:00pm, Saturday September 8.
