Keira Knightley tied the knot over the weekend to Klaxons singer/keyboardist James Righton. And while their nuptials made headlines, so did her cocktail-length wedding dress.
Knightley and Righton said "I do" in front of a small group of their closest friends and family in Mazan, France. They were snapped walking hand-in-hand on their wedding day, with Knightley in the buzzed-about dress, rumored to be the cream-colored Rodarte number she previously wore in 2008 at a pre-Bafta party.
"It was not a long service, and very few people," an insider told People. The source added that the local mayor wed the couple and it "occurred just before noon and lasted only about 30 minutes. Keira looked beautiful. She wore a very pretty, very elegant dress." It was originally rumored she would wear a dress designed by Chanel when she married, but she paid homage to pal Karl Lagerfeld in another way. On top of her Rodarte dress, she wore a Chanel jacket, as well as flats and daisies in her hair.
The website further reports that after the couple exchanged their vows, they planned to have a reception with upwards of 50 guests, and the Klaxons were expected to perform. Knightley owns a small wine farm in the region and the site reports that a reception tent was spotted on the grounds prior to the event.
The couple got engaged last May. They began dating one year after they were reportedly introduced by former MTV host Alexa Chung.
And, if Knightley's low-key affair surprises you, it shouldn't. Earlier this year, the actress opened up about her wedding plans to Marie Claire, saying, "We're not big-wedding types. I don't need to have all that. I'm just trying to enjoy the engagement bit."
