WEâVE had Towie and Made In Chelsea â" now get ready for Made In Brixton.
TV producers are putting together a show based on the lives of twenty-somethings living in the tough south London area.
And it promises to be a world away from the prima donnas of Essex and rich mummyâs boys from Chelsea.
Because while Towie is famous for the Sugar Hut and MIC is known for swanky nightspot Raffles, Brixtonites like to booze in the rough and ready Dogstar pub.
Producers hope to have their stars in place by the end of the month and film the first series this summer.
So far, the show has not been signed over to a broadcaster but several channels are thought to be interested.
A source said last night: âBrixton has long been associated with gangs and gun crime.
âAny show based in the area will be a million miles away from the spoilt lives featured in Towie and MIC.
âYou canât imagine Spencer Matthews or Ollie Locke having a pint in a backstreet boozer off Brixton High Street.
âAnd while the Towie cast like to think theyâre streetwise, you probably wouldnât see them out in south London after dark.
âUp to now, reality shows have been popular because they give people a glimpse of how the other half live.
âMaybe itâs time to see what life is like on the other side of the tracks.â
