Glamorous Claudia Winkleman proves she DOES know how to use an eyeliner at art gallery exhibition

She may have chucked her eyeliner away last week after a beauty faux-pas, but it looked like Claudia Winkleman had pulled it out of the bin and dusted it off as she arrived to an art gallery in smoky-eyed fashion.

The TV presenter's green eyes popped within the black kohl frame, and her tanned skin looked even and glowing compared to her last public outing.

With a smile on her face, Claudia, 41, made her point that last week's appearance at the GQ Awards should by no means be considered her common look.

Claudia Winkleman did sack the make-up artist! But most likely spent a little more time doing her eyeliner for the Jonathan Yeo Portraits Private View at The National Portrait Gallery

Winkleman attended the Jonathan Yeo Portraits Private View at The National Portrait Gallery on Tuesday night, and looked rather sophisticated for the occasion.

Opting for a embroidered white top tucked into black trousers, Claudia balances a matching black suit jacket over her arms and carried a monochrome clutch bag

She added a touch of colour with a blood red manicure, and her shoulder-length hair looked glossy as its waves shaped her face.

Also in attendance was Bafta-winner Helena Bonham Carther who arrived in typical Gothic fashion by wearing a black two-toned blazer over a sheer, ruffled dress and lace socks with black and gold Mary-Jane shoes.

The Les Miserables star brightened her face with a red lipstick and wore her reddish hair in a ha-up, half-down style as she joined VIP guests at the cultural affair.

Comedian Jimmy Carr attended with his wife Karoline Copping, as did Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller who brought their partners Hannah Brownen Snow and Jessica Parker.

Looking far more dressed down than her celebrity contemporaries, Laura Parker-Bowles wore Converse trainers, jeans and a photographic print T-shirt with her suite and booted husband Harry Lopes.

The man of the moment, Jonathan Yeo was loved up with his stunning wife Sheba Rohnay who wore a magnificent red lace dress, as she shared a kiss with her artist husband on his special night.

Yeo rose in fame during the 2000s as a contemporary portraitist, having infamously painted the likes of Nicole Kidman, Dennis Hopper, Prince Philip, Erin O'Connor, Tony Blair, and David Cameron.

Jonathan - son of former culture minister Tim Yeo has also seen his work hang in Banksy's gallery as well as creating the famous collage of George W. Bush made entirely from shreds of pornographic images.

And on the night of his exhibition, fellow British artist Grayson Perry arrived with his colourful wife Phillipa and their daughter Flo.

Known for his cross-dressing, Grayson arrived in a yellow dress with a teddy bear featured on the front and wore clown-like make-up with a Joan of Arc-esque wig.

Joanathan Yeo Portraits show in The National Portrait Gallery from 11 September 2013 - 5 January 2014.
