Famous faces including Khloe Kardashian, Kelly Brook and Helen Flanagan have stripped off to raise awareness for anima charity PETA in hard-hitting adverts.

And the latest such star is TOWIE's Gemma Collins, who has gone naked in a bit to discourage people from wearing fur.

In the shot, Gemma is seen proudly displaying her curvy figure while laying on a pink satin sheet, wearing nothing but a pearl necklace alongside the caption: 'I'd rather go naked than wear fur'.

And while Gemma said she's more than proud of the finished advert, she insisted she won't be going nude for any more shoots - apart from one.

In an exclusive chat with MailOnline, Gemma said: 'I think this will be the last nude shoot I'll do, unless Playboy does a plus-size issue. Hugh Hefner needs to be aware of Gemma Collins from TOWIE.

'That's the only way I'd go naked again - for Playboy.'

Gemma added that while the decision to strip off was more than a little daunting, she is proud to have gone ahead with the shoot because she hopes it stuns people so much that they become more aware of the cruelty to animals.

She said: 'I was actually totally and utterly naked for the shot but I'm so pleased that I did it. Going naked was a big thing for me but if it shocks the world into action then I do think it was worth doing.'

Gemma also revealed to MailOnline that the treatment of animals has long been a cause close to her heart, but she was in the dark about just how horrendous some situations were.

She told MailOnline: 'Before I arrived for my shoot at PETA, I didn't realise the extent of the cruelty to animals in a lot of instances. I was shown these videos and I was shocked, saddened and reduced to tears because I couldn't believe how much we don't see behind the scenes.

'I might be a girl from TOWIE but people do look up to me and I know that this advert will appeal to and raise awareness among a younger audience. I'm so proud of this advert because I believe I'm creating awareness out there.'

Gemma added that some of the animal cruelty videos she was shown by PETA shocked her so much that she didn't eat meat for a staggering six weeks.

She said: 'I do love my meat, I love a bacon butty and a good sausage, but I literally couldn't eat any meat for a whole six weeks, and I really don't eat much meat at all any more.

'Eating too much meat just isn't good for the soul.'

Gemma also spoke to MailOnline about her battles with her weight, revealing that while she has been trying to shed the pounds, a medical issue which sees her body produce too much insulin has made her attempts frustratingly slow.

She said: 'Every day I struggle with my weight, but at the end of the day people forget that I have an insulin problem. I mean, I am healthy because I eat healthily and work out, but my body produces three times as much insulin as it should do, which turns into sugar and that then turns into fat.

'People think I'm sitting there eating junk food all the time but I swear on my life that I eat healthily. Today I had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and chicken for lunch - I do consider myself a healthy person because I eat healthily and I train three times a week but people look at me and think I'm unhealthy because of the extra weight I'm carrying.'

And despite insisting that she's happy and confident with the size she is now, Gemma added that she would like to shed a few pounds.

She said: 'I'm a size 20 now and I'd really like to get down to a size 16 or 18 because that's where I feel the most comfortable.

'But at the end of the day, I'm in my 30s and I'm the happiest and most comfortable I've ever been.'

Gemma has even made a name for herself as a hugely successful plus-size fashion designer, and admits that creating clothing for the larger lady has proved a more than satisfying venture.

She said: 'Just because you're bigger, it doesn't mean that you have to wear black all the time. When you were my dresses, its designed to make you feel a million dollars.

'People come into my boutique in Brentwood and they are almost in tears when they find a dress. It's so lovely to see someone come into a store and feel socially accepted.

'My dream for the future is to have a three-storey flagship store on London's Oxford Street.'
