Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch is watching his back now that James McAvoy has warned him that fellow jealous actors might want to chop his legs off.
The 36-year-old, who was catapulted to fame with his highly-praised role as Sherlock Holmes in the modern BBC series, has now gone on to star in major Hollywood roles that include movies such as War Horse, Star Trek Into Darkness and he is set to appear in Peter Jackson's upcoming Hobbit movies.

According to The Sun, Benedict recently revealed that he had read an interview by X-Men star James McAvoy, in which he found the warning.
"I read a piece in The New York Times where James McAvoy was quoted as saying, 'Oh, Benedict doesn't need to fear the media or his fans or his new profile'," he recalled.
"'He just needs to fear actors who will be looking at him with envy and want to cut his legs off'."

Even though Benedict has enjoyed incredible success over the recent years, he insists that so far his fellow actors and friends have been quite supportive of him.
"Most of my friends who are actors are just really, really thrilled with what I've got. It's kind of humbling, actually. And it's nice because I'm not as good-looking as James."
Benedict is currently filming his role as Lewis in Magik, in which he plays the lead role. The movie isn't set for release until 2015, but according to IMDB, tells the story of an author who discovers a world of magic following the disappearance of his two children.
