Chris Brown can kiss his precious graffiti monsters goodbye -- he's lost the war to keep his "art" pieces up on the walls of his Hollywood Hills home.
As we previously reported ... Chris has been fighting the city of L.A. since May over the graffiti he plastered on an exterior wall of the house -- even claiming it's protected by the 1st Amendment.
The city threatened to slap him with a heavy fine ... and now it looks like Chris caved -- as workers slapped a fresh layer of paint on the concrete wall today.
The LA Building Department of Safety tells TMZ it will send inspectors to check out the coverup job tomorrow -- and if it's all gone, Chris will not be fined.
Neighbors complained the graffiti was a blight that scared kids on the block.
For his part, Chris claimed he would never take it down -- but something or someone clearly convinced him otherwise.
