She's been no stranger to the beach over the last year, but Denise Van Outen was curiously averse to getting wet on Saturday when she launched a new campaign for Nivea.

The 39-year-old has been sunning herself on no less than six holidays since the turn of the year, amongst them trips to Thailand, Dubai and Ibiza – where she was spotted frolicking close to her hotel pool in a skimpy monochrome bikini last month.

But the Balearics area  long way from the comparatively Baltic Manchester, the distinctly less glamorous location for Nivea's new dare to Dip campaign,  which a fully dressed Denise was on hand to promote

Dressed in a smart black skirts and monochrome top from Dorothy Perkins, the TV personality was all smiles as she paraded in front of a swimming pool, a blue Nivea beach-ball tucked under one arm.

The cosmetics brand was urging women to call in, sample some of their products and take a dip in the plunge pool, aptly dubbed the 'Dip Skip.'

Despite her broad smile – and numerous air miles – Denise has endured a difficult few weeks with her split from husband Lee Mead made public in July.

Denise – a judge on the show – married the 32-year-old two years later in the Seychelles, with their only child, daughter Betsy, arriving in 2010.

The former Big Breakfast presenter was last seen with her daughter on Wednesday, when they returned to the London home Lee moved out of earlier this year.

A source told Star magazine:  'Denise doesn't want this to end in divorce and agreed to a temporary separation to see if it would help them through their differences.'

A spokesperson has also confirmed to MailOnline that Denise and Lee remain on amicable terns, saying: 'The couple remain the best of friends, with their daughter Betsy as their number one priority. The family ask for privacy at this time.'
